Are we on the same page so far?
Good. Now see if this sounds like you, too…
You dream of having a multiple 6-figure business but not at the expense of enjoying more freedom of time with your family, more freedom to travel, and more freedom to choose who you work with (i.e., no pain-in-the-neck clients!)
And you want a business that doesn’t get bogged down in a lot of tech, complex marketing funnels. And you want to avoid an expensive, drama-heavy team.
That’s a clear dream. But if you’re not quite there yet…
Stop Building a Business You Dread
Do you find yourself trapped in a business where you are:
Chasing tasks throughout the day to keep up with everything you must do from marketing to client fulfillment to content creation?
Dealing with clients who you would hate as a next-door neighbor, let alone having to get on the phone with them a couple of times a month?
Constantly spinning your wheels trying to figure out what to offer that’s aligned with your zone of genius (verses what makes money now, but honestly not your jam)?
Making okay money but working your ass off to get it?
Managing a team with endless drama and issues?
Not to worry. It’s not your fault and there’s a better way…

The Anti-Empire Approach to Financial Freedom
The Empire Approach
There are many ways to grow a business. All are valid, but which is right for you?
Many people will steer you towards building a big empire of a business. But if you want a high net profit with lots of freedom of time, then an empire is probably not right for you.
Here’s why…
Because with the empire model you’ll work your ass off managing a team with all their drama only to take home a small percent of your business gross revenue. Most of the revenue will go towards paying your team and getting a high volume of leads.
If you say, “I want a million-dollar business” pause and really think it through. To have a million-dollar (gross) business this likely means you will have big group programs (READ: lots of client drama and issues to deal with every day) and a team of 6+ (READ: lots of staff drama and issues to deal with every day).
You become a manager more than fulfilling the service you love delivering. You must put out 10x more fires every day. You become a babysitter.
You need A LOT of volume of leads to make $1 million. You will likely have to do multiple big launches every year – either live multi-day events (which will cost you $50,000+ per event) and/or an online launch or Facebook Challenge launch. These suck an enormous amount of your time and team expenses.
And for what? Your business might bring in $1 million dollars, but by the time you pay all your team, and the cost of expensive launches to make enough sales, what is your actual take-home revenue? Probably around $200,000 to $300,000.
Is it worth all the hassle?
OR… Take The Anti-Empire Approach…
You can run a lean business with a couple of handful of high-paying one-on-one clients and run your business with little to no team. (Maybe a tech virtual assistant for 5 hours a week.)
Make your lead generation simple and predictable. (For sure referrals and building your professional network along with maybe a speaking gig every other month and/or weekly strategic social media strategies.) You only need around 8 - 14 clients at any given time so your time doesn’t need to be consumed with a ton of marketing effort.
All this adds up to the option to have a $200,000 business with low complexity, and low expenses so you have high-net profits and a high-freedom of time.
NOTE: You might still want a million-dollar business. Great. But you still need to build a strong foundation and make around $200K before you can scale up. I can get you to that level and then you can move on from there if you want.
For years I had an image in my mind of what a great life was… sitting in a cafe in Europe with a cappuccino and croissant. Now I live that every day because I consciously designed my business to fit my lifestyle.
Is it Time for A Business Model Makeover?
Let’s clean up what’s dragging you down.
Let’s focus on offers that make you the most money with the least effort. (And let’s get rid of all those offers that distract you and confuse your market.)
Let’s get your business to be a fine-tuned machine where you push a button on one end and money comes out the other end. (With the least amount of complexity.)
Let me coach your marketing message out of you so it’s pure and simple and super hooky to your ideal client. (And turns off all those you DON’T want to work with, so you stop wasting time with tire-kickers.)
Let’s get you down to eventually working around 25 hours a week. (During the clean-up phase you will probably work more than that, but the goal is to get you to a steady and strong 25 hours a week.)
Let’s install a marketing system in your business so leads come consistently and predictably. (We’ll focus on getting new eyeballs on you without you having to do lead generation than makes you cringe.)
Let me fine-tune your teaching content so you can use it in all your talks, webinars, social media posts, videos, etc. (I interview you to get to your essential value proposition and all the mini topics that can be turned into talking points and posts.)
Because I designed my business model to match my lifestyle, I get to enjoy what’s most important to me. This is taken from a hidden bench deep in the forest near my house in The Netherlands. I often bike here and spend hours reading a book (usually a modern classic) and listening to Bach.
Hi, I’m James Roche…
I’m a small business consultant since 2005.
I’ve worked with thousands of entrepreneurs all over the world, including CEOs of Inc. 500 companies, service-based professionals, coaches, consultants, and health practitioners. I’ve developed a simple, “anti-empire” business model that allows coaches and consultants to make $200,000 a year working less than 25 hours a week.
I specialize in designing profitable business models, creating offers that sell themselves, crafting hooky marketing messages, developing content for social media and talks, and streamlining businesses so my clients enjoy a freedom-based lifestyle.
I’ve co-designed, co-taught, and co-mentored multiple highly successful year-long coaching programs that served thousands of small business owners.
I break free from the norm. I believe you have options to design the lifestyle you want consciously and strategically. And it doesn’t have to be complicated.
I’m a world traveler and award-winning photographer. I’ve studied meditation in India and piano in England. I have personally achieved a freedom-based lifestyle for the past 14 years.
In 2015, my wife and I (I’m now widowed) fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to Europe (The Netherlands), where I enjoy classical music, art, books, and bicycling through the Dutch countryside.
Rave Reviews
How to Work with Me
I’m very good at taking coaches and consultants who currently earn around $50,000 - $100,000 and helping them clean up their business so it’s streamlined and earns around $200,000 plus while working around 25 hours a week.
I only work with private clients who fit within my zone of genius. That way they get the most value and I do work I enjoy. Because of that, I don’t work with everybody.
And I’m semi-retired so I only work with a handful of one-on-one clients at a time.
Who I Work With
You’re already making at least $50,000 in your current business. (The only exceptions are if you had a high leadership position in corporate and/or if you have already built a 6-figure business in the past and are doing something new now.)
You already make sales and have worked with at least a dozen clients.
You already have a platform; you are already a proven expert on your topic.
You already have an audience (i.e., an email list and/or social media followers in the thousands.)
If you don’t have the criteria above, it’s likely we aren’t a fit.
